QUECHEE — Members of the Ottauquechee School’s Girls on the Run group helped to place flags on the graves of veterans in advance of Memorial Day at Hilltop Cemetery in Quechee on Friday, May 21, 2026.

The group fulfills its service requirement by helping the Hartford Veterans Council with the flags each year.

The council distributed about 1,200 flags to 13 locations throughout the town of Hartford. They will stay in place through Veterans Day and be removed in November.
