
The following Upper Valley residents graduated from Mount Royal Academy, a private Roman Catholic School, in Sunapee on May 31: Thomas Breisch, Claremont; Mia Cahill, Sunapee; Amelia Caravan, Newport; Ryan Donelan, New London; Melody Heacock, Newport; Grace Holliston, Newbury, NH; Roxana Hudkins, New London; Gemma Josephs, Newbury, NH; Eliza Keady, Claremont; Luke Moorehouse, Sunapee; Alexander Peschke, Croydon; Abrianna Scallon, Newport; and Joseph Straniero, New London.
Breanne Robertson, a senior at Newport Middle High School, earned a 2025 FedPoint Nursing Scholarship. Robertson, of Newport, is among four recipients chosen from 120 applicants to earn the scholarship, which she will put toward continuing her education at Vermont State University at Castleton.
Hanover High School’s Quiz Bowl Team competed in the 2025 High School National Championship Tournament the weekend of May 24th in Atlanta. Hanover was the only New Hampshire team to compete in the championship, which included 336 teams from 37 states, the District of Columbia and Guatemala, according to a news release from the nonprofit organization. Chris Chor served as captain of Hanover’s team, which included Kastner Anderson, Ray Menkov and Martin Mosdal. William Murphy served as the coach.
The following Upper Valley residents earned degrees from College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass., this spring: Elizabeth Angus, New London, magna cum laude; Aidan Gould, New London; and Michael Steckbeck-Piper, Enfield.
The following Upper Valley residents earned bachelor’s degrees from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Mass., this spring: Kelu Liu, White River Junction, computer science and electrical and computer engineering; and Olivia Simon, Etna, mechanical engineering.
Emma Henault, of Tunbridge, earned the Class of 1917 Prize for English Language and Literature and the Kathleen Arnott Watters ‘65 Humanities Prize at Elmira College in Elmira, N.Y., this spring.
Addy Pifer, of Croydon, made the chancellor’s list at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, N.C., for the spring 2025 semester.
