NORTH HAVERHILL — Democrats swept Grafton County races in voting on Tuesday.
Michael Cryans, of Hanover, bested Brian Dear, of Lyman, for county treasurer, 30,457 – 21,186.
Cryans will take the place of Lebanon Democrat Karen Liot Hill, who was elected to the Executive Council on Tuesday.
Incumbent Democrat Kelley Monahan, of Orford, held on to the position of register of deeds, beating Campton Republican Daniel Werman, 30,653 – 20,691.
Democrats also one two county commissioner seats, Martha Stroup McLeod, of Franconia, beat out Sugar Hill Republican Nick De Mayo to retain her seat, 9,080 – 8,264. Meanwhile, Plymouth Democrat Katie Hedberg beat fourth-term incumbent Republican Omer C. Ahern Jr., of Wentworth, 8,936 – 8,823.
In uncontested races, Democrat Charles Townsend, won election to register of probate and Marcie Hornick, who ran as both a Democrat and Republican, won reelection as county attorney.
