PLAINFIELD — The Plainfield Zoning Board denied developer Michael Venditto’s appeal regarding a wetland buffer zone on a proposed development on Gleason and Bean roads.
The dispute centered around whether land that is part of a “wetland buffer zone” — the 50 feet of open space required between a wetland and the start of a plot of developable land — can be included in the calculation for “contiguous developable land” that the town requires for a development. In November, the Planning Board ruled that the wetland buffer zone cannot be included in that calculation, and Venditto appealed the decision to the Zoning Board.
The decision, if it stands, would reduce the development to eight single-family lots. Venditto’s lawyer, Eric Maher, has said that he would appeal the decision to New Hampshire Housing Appeals Board.
