BOSTON — It wasn’t enough to secure a berth in the Ivy League Tournament, but the Dartmouth College men’s basketball team closed the season by winning four of five, concluding with a 76-54 victory at Harvard on Saturday.

The Big Green (9-16, 6-8 Ivy League) got 19 points from graduate guard Brendan Barry, who became Dartmouth’s all-time leader in made 3-pointers. Senior guard Taurus Samuels added 15 points, fifth-year forward Aaryn Rai had a double-double with 13 points and as many rebounds, and junior forward Dame Adelekun chipped in with 12 points.

It was the biggest margin of victory for the Big Green against the Crimson in 30 years.

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. — Dartmouth (3-4) swept a doubleheader on Saturday, but lost single games Friday and Sunday against the Runnin’ Bulldogs. Senior Nathan Skinner threw a complete-game, four-hit shutout in Saturday’s first game, a 1-0 Big Green win. He struck out six and did not issue a walk. Dartmouth then won an 11-7 slugfest later that day, jumping out to a 10-2 lead and then hanging on. Sophomore Tyler Cox led the way with three hits and four RBI.

SOFTBALLDartmouth drops all five at Tennessee Invitational

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Big Green (2-8) faced a pair of Power Five opponents and a tough mid-major, and could not come up with a win against No. 17 Tennessee, South Alabama and Virginia. Dartmouth’s best chance came in the weekend opener against the Jaguars, when senior Brooke Plonka threw seven shutout innings. But the Big Green couldn’t put any runs on the board themselves, and South Alabama won it on a sacrifice fly in the eighth.

Dartmouth scored just three runs all weekend, and none of them scored on a hit. No Big Green player has a higher OPS than freshman Alaana Panu’s .618 through 10 games. The Big Green are off this week before a Spring Break trip to Georgia.

MEN’S TENNISDartmouth 6, Bucknell 1

HANOVER — The Big Green (6-3) handily defeated the Bison on Saturday morning.

Dartmouth swept the doubles matches, with the No. 3 team of sophomore Logan Chang and freshman Carlos Guerrero Alvarez being the first to finish.

Juniors Anders Gibbons and Dominik Pauli clinched the doubles point for the Big Green at the No. 1 spot.

Chang made quick work of his opponent at No. 6, winning 6-1, 6-0.

Singles victories by senior Pierce Widdecombe, Gibbons and Guerrero Alvarez gave Dartmouth the match.

“We’re happy to get the win today,” head coach Xander Centenari said. “Credit to Bucknell for pushing us on many courts. The guys did a good job of coming up with what they needed to do to get the job done.”

The Big Green are off until a Spring Break trip to San Diego and Los Angeles.
