CLAREMONT — Claremont City Manager Ed Morris submitted his resignation and will become the town manager in Enfield, he said Friday.

Morris said by email that he had first advised the City Council of his intentions based on a conditional offer in late October, and that he has agreed to terms with Enfield.

His last day on the job in Claremont will be Jan. 7.

Morris was hired as city manager in Claremont in July 2019, after working as the town manager in Weathersfield since 2016.

Morris, who holds a master’s degree from the University of Missouri’s Harry S. Truman School of Public Affairs, previously worked as a professional firefighter in Twin Falls, Idaho, for more than 16 years.

Morris will succeed Interim Town Manager Jack Wozmak, who has been working part time since late last year after Enfield Town Manager Ryan Aylesworth took a job in Connecticut.
