BOSTON — Behind a fourth-place finish from senior Liam Jamieson, the Dartmouth men’s cross country team won the New England Championship on Saturday afternoon at Franklin Park.
Jamieson paced the Big Green, finishing the 8K course in 24 minutes, 57.0 seconds. Sophomore David Moore crossed the finish line just five seconds later, taking in eighth at 25:02.2. Freshman Albert Velikonja (10th, 25:04.9), junior Seth Weprin (11th, 25:05.5) and junior Jonathan Reid (27th, 25:24.0) completed the scoring for Dartmouth, which posted a championship-best 60 points.
“We’ve been training really well and just needed a few things to come together to show it,” coach Justin Wood said. “Every Dartmouth athlete ran either a season best or a lifetime personal best for 8K.”
The Dartmouth women finished third behind Boston College and UNH. The Big Green had two runners in the top 20 over the 5K course, freshman Ellie Tymorek (eighth, 17:50.2) and freshman Bella Pietrasiewicz (17th, 18:11.8.)

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — The Big Green picked up its first Ivy League win of the season, beating the Bulldogs at Burnham Field behing a two-goal game from freshman forward Hannah Curtin.
Curtin got things going quickly for Dartmouth (5-4-1, 1-2-0) by turning a Dasa Hase pass into an eighth-minute goal. Yale tid the match 17 seconds later. That’s where it stayed until Curtin’s game-winner with less than two minutes left in regulation, thanks to an Allie Winstanley assist.
Dartmouth visits Penn on Saturday.
NEW HAVEN, Conn. — The host Bulldogs (4-4-2, 1-0-1) scored twice late to hand the Big Green (1-8-0, 0-2-0) at Reese Stadium.
Paolo Carroll scored both Yale goals in the 78th and 84th minutes. Alex Budnik had four saves in the Dartmouth net.
The Big Green goes to Penn on Saturday.
HANOVER — Eight Big Green players crossed the try line, and Dartmouth recorded just the fourth shutout in program history in dominating the Mountaineers at Brophy Field.
Idia Ihensekhien and Asialeata Meni both had a pair of tries to lead the attack. MSM held Dartmouth to one try over the match’s first 16 minutes, but an Emily Henrich score opened the floodgtaes. The Big Green led, 42-0, at the half.
Dartmouth (5-0) hosts Harvard on Oct. 23.
HANOVER— The 18th-ranked Tigers overwhelmed the Big Green (4-7-0) at Chase Field.
Beth Yeager drove home four goals for Princeton, which used a strong third quarter to take control.
Junior Hatley Post made five saves for the Big Green, with all of them coming in the final frame.
NEW HAVEN, Conn. — The Bulldogs handed Dartmouth a fifth straight Ivy League loss in a 25-15, 22-25, 25-20, 25-22 decision.
The Big Green (8-6, 0-5) return to Leede Arena next weekend to host Columbia and Cornell.
