SHARON — Residents approved all spending measures and advanced a two-town community forest plan in Town Meeting voting on Saturday.
The $5 million Sharon school budget passed, 212-82. Taxes are estimated to increase by 14.6 cents per $100 of home valuation or an additional $365 for the owner of a $250,000 home under the plan.
Residents also voted, 264-36, in favor of a $1.69 million operating budget for the town, a 1.6% increase over the budget passed last year.
And by a vote of 230-72, they approved the Ashley Community Forest plan, voting to accept 150 acres of land from the Alliance for Vermont Communities. The town would manage the property along with the town of Strafford, which voted to accept its 106.7 acres of the forest at Town Meeting earlier this spring.
There were no contested races on the ballot. Catherine Sartor was elected to succeed longtime Town Clerk Debra St. Peter, who is retiring.
