RANDOLPH — M. Dickey Drysdale, a prominent figure in journalism in Orange County for more than four decades, died on Wednesday.

Drysdale, former editor and publisher of The Herald of Randolph, and died at home, where his wife, Marjorie and sons Robin and Jamie were in attendance, according to his old paper, which is now known as The White River Valley Herald. He was 76.

Drysdale bought the weekly paper from his father in 1971 and ran it until selling in 2015 to Tim Calabro, a photographer at the Herald, and his wife.

Drysdale was inducted into the New England Newspaper and Press Association’s Hall of Fame in 2015.
