THETFORD — A box truck crashed into the Sayre Covered Bridge on Friday, causing minor damage to the entrance, according to a news release from Thetford police.

The driver, Benjamin Wolfe, 31, of Claremont, was operating a 13-foot box truck when he hit the top of the bridge, which has a legal height limit of 11 feet, 9 inches. The damage to the Thetford Center bridge appeared to be cosmetic, according to the release.

Wolfe was cited with failure to obey traffic control devices.
