Hot topic: Voters in Orange are being asked if they will allow the moderator to appoint a committee of five residents to study the salaries of elected officials and town employees and make recommendations in the next annual town report, with a warrant article also possible.
Budget: Residents are being asked to approve a budget of $241,132. Separate articles also propose that a total of $18,000 be put in various reserve funds.
Contested races: There are no contested elections on the ballot. Selectboard member Tamara Fairbank is running for reelection.
When and where: Ballot voting for town officers will take place at the Orange Town House on Tuesday, March 9, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The floor portion of Town Meeting will be held Wednesday, March 10, at 7 p.m., at the Mascoma Regional High School auditorium in Canaan. Residents needing transportation can ride on a school bus leaving the Town House around 6:15 p.m. Masks are required on the bus and at the meeting.
