WEATHERSFIELD, VT — Maxine D. Baker 87 passed away at her home in Weathersfield, VT, Wednesday, January 27, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 8, 1933 in Claremont, NH, the daughter of Syble Hodgdon.

She married Leon P. Baker in Springfield, VT on November 11, 1950. He predeceased her on April 17, 2008.

Maxine was a mother and homemaker, worked as a housekeeper and did childcare. Her home and family were her pride and joy. She lived in Weathersfield for over 70 years. She loved caring for children, cooking, gardening, bird watching and in earlier years snowmobiling.

She is survived by her son Donald H. Baker of Weathersfield, VT, one brother Alfred Beattie and his wife Jean of Middleton, MA, one granddaughter Michelle Fullerton and her husband Dale of Colchester, VT, two great great grandchildren Dylan and Owen Fullerton who she adored and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband, her loving grandmother Gertrude Hodgdon, her mother Syble Horton and grandson Philip Baker.

A graveside service will be held at the Ascutneyville Cemetery in Ascutney, VT, in the Spring.
