ENFIELD, NH — Rosemary Sheridan Mehler, 85, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, at her home in Enfield, New Hampshire surrounded by her family. She was born on November 19, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of Jerome and Rose Sheridan.

Rosemary grew up in Rockville Centre NY, and graduated from St. Agnes High School in June 1952. She then went on to study and graduate from Marymount Arlington and Marymount Tarrytown with a degree in Economics in June 1956. Immediately following graduation, Rosemary married the love of her life, Robert K. Mehler, on July 21, 1956, who had just graduated from dental school and enlisted in the Navy. Rosemary and Bob settled into their first home together on the naval base in Bainbridge, MD where Bob could practice his new profession.

Rosemary and Bob returned to Long Island in July 1958 and purchased a home in Massapequa, NY where they lived for over 55 years. It was here that Rosemary raised her four children, worked as secretary in Bob’s dental practice, and volunteered in many capacities at her church and her children’s schools.

Joined at the hip for 61 years, Rosemary adored her husband and best friend Bob. She was a nurturing and proud grandma and loved spoiling her five grandchildren with brownies, ice cream, and milk shakes. Rosemary enjoyed traveling, seeing Broadway shows and going to the movies. In the summer, Rosemary cherished the time with her family at their lakeside home at Goose Pond in Canaan, NH, watching her children and grandchildren swim, reading a good book in the sunshine, enjoying an evening cocktail. Rosemary and Bob were blessed with a close-knit circle of extended family and friends with whom they shared and laughed much of their lives.

Rosemary was very dedicated to her church, serving and supporting the St. William the Abbot Parish in Seaford, NY, and St. Helena’s Parish in Enfield, NH, for over 50 years. Special thanks to Father Charles Pawlowski of St. Helena’s for his spiritual support in the latter part of Rosemary’s life.

Rosemary is predeceased by her husband Bob. She is survived by her sons Bob Mehler Jr. (wife Mari Miya) and John Mehler, daughters Marybeth Mehler Patterson and Diane Glazer Murphy (husband Jim Murphy), five grandchildren Brian, Kelly and Danny Mehler, and Kevin and Ali Glazer, step-granddaughters Anna Loeschner and Sharon and Lauren Murphy, and companion dog Miranda.

Rosemary’s services will be postponed in effort to keep all safe during this period of time while COVID-19 is present. An online obituary is available to leave Rosemary’s family a message of condolence by visiting www.rickerfuneralhome.com.
