TUNBRIDGE — The outgoing head of The Sharon Academy is a finalist for the principal position at Tunbridge Central School.

Michael Livingston, who has worked at the independent academy for 19 years, sent out an email to parents at The Sharon Academy on Friday announcing the news. Livingston, who turned 66 in January, had previously announced his plans to retire from the position last year.

“The opportunity to continue working with children in our larger community is very exciting to me,” he wrote in Friday’s message.

Tunbridge Central School also announced the news on its Facebook page Friday. The post said that members of the community as well as faculty and staff of the school will have the chance to ask Livingston questions virtually on Monday.

That will be followed by an official final interview with the First Branch Unified District School Board on Tuesday.
