FAIRLEE — The Upper Valley Trails Alliance has postponed its annual Skate-a-thon on the Lake Morey Skating Trail, the second straight season in which the Norwich-based organization has had to put off one of its major fundraisers.
UVTA development director Randy Richardson confirmed the postponement in a Thursday email, saying the organization has agreed with the Lake Morey Resort on a Feb. 16 reschedule date. The resort, which oversees maintenance of the 4½-mile trail, has yet to open it for skating this winter. It urged in a Facebook post on Thursday for people to stay off the ice, given this weekend’s warm and wet forecast. Last year’s event was called off by snow.
Tickets for the Skate-a-thon, which runs from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., remain on sale. Visit www.uvtrails.org for more information on the event.
