NORWICH, VT — Douglas F. Kerr of Norwich Vermont, passed away Friday, December 13, 2019 after a long battle with cancer. He was born 8/19/1949 in New Haven, CT, and attended Hamden High School where he participated in multiple activities, and was the captain of the tennis team. After graduating from there in 1967, he attended the University of Vermont and majored in engineering. After his graduation from UVM in 1972 he went to work doing various jobs, eventually finding his niche as the Facilities Manager for Dartmouth College. He worked there for 32 years, retiring in 2012. It was during his time at Dartmouth when he met the love of his life, Lois Courtemanche in 1982 and they married in 1987 at Rollins Chapel on the Dartmouth Campus.

Doug was a passionate skier, many times skiing 50-75 times per season. Doug easily made friends, was a great organizer and do-er and will be remembered for being the glue that held many relationships together. Other interests included cooking, making beer, kayaking, boating. He also enjoyed many summers at his family camp at Lovell Lake, in NH. Doug was interested in and very proud of his Scottish heritage and would entertain friends with family anecdotes.

He was predeceased by his parents and several aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his wife, Lois Kerr of Norwich VT, a brother Daved Kerr of Utah, father-in-law Gordon Courtemanche of Rochester, NH, in-laws Lynn (Donald) Langley of Enfield NH, and Wayne (Judi) Courtemanche of Lompoc, CA, his beloved cousins and their families, nieces and nephews, many devoted friends and his three cats.

Arrangements are being made by the Cremation Society of New Hampshire. There will be no service at this time, but a Celebration of Life is being planned for the Spring of 2020.
