EXETER, N.H. — Exeter High jumped to a 7-1 halftime lead en route to an 11-3 win over Hanover on Tuesday afternoon in the NHIAA Division I boys lacrosse season opener for both programs.
Kyle Rozzi, Caleb Morse and Toño Correa provided the goals for the Marauders (0-1), with Charlie Baughman contributing the lone assist. Elijah Putnam and Mason Winter combined to make nine saves in the Hanover net.
Brendan Brigham provided a bright spot with his faceoff work for Hanover. Brigham won more than half of his draws and added five ground balls.
The Marauders open their home schedule on Friday afternoon against Nashua South.
HANOVER — Ty Thompson and Tyler Corpora scored unassisted goals in the final 67 seconds of regulation as the Hawks (3-9) won a seesaw contest over the Big Green (2-8) in the snow on Scully-Fahey Field.
The two teams tied 10 times and had six lead changes, the last one going to the visitors. Dylan Jinks had a team-high four goals and six points for Hartford.
Ben Martin had a five-goal, one-assist game for Dartmouth, while Harland Smart scored twice for the Big Green’s only other multiple-goal performance. Smart’s second goal, with 1:49 to go on the man up, gave Dartmouth its last lead at 11-10 before the Hawks rallied.
George Christopher had 12 saves for Dartmouth, which hosts Princeton on Saturday.
