Claremont
The money is part of a $4.6 million contract with Harbor Homes Inc. that the New Hampshire Executive Council approved at its meeting on Wednesday. The money is for recovery community centers across the state. In Claremont, the money will fund the program for the fiscal year that began on July 1.
Harbor Homes stepped in after Hope for Recovery announced in February it would close its peer recovery center in Claremont. The recovery center offers peer support for those struggling with addiction through group sessions and one-on-one counseling. Until the state money was approved, the program received funding from Dartmouth-Hitchcock, Valley Regional Hospital and the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation.
The center became a formal program under Harbor Homes on July 1.
Harbor Homes is a nonprofit offering affordable housing, health care, employment and job training to low-income, homeless and disabled people in New Hampshire. The Claremont center will become one of 10 Harbor Homes clients around the state.
