It’s that time of the year again, as the Dartmouth College football season inches closer. The Big Green are helping local youth get ready for the upcoming campaign on Wednesday with the annual Football 101 youth clinic.
The event, catered to kids ages 12 years old and younger, is free of charge and will allow participants to take part in on-field activities at Memorial Field and meet Dartmouth players and coaches.
In addition to the on-field fun, there will be photo opportunities and free food. Football 101 is scheduled to run from 5-7 p.m. and will be moved indoors if weather is inclement.

Big Green football comes in third in preseason poll
After finishing last season 7-3 overall and 4-3 in conference play, the Dartmouth football team was ranked third in the Ivy League preseason poll recently.
The Big Green had 94 points and no first-place votes in the survey, which was completed by 16 media members who cover the conference. Those 94 points trailed defending Ivy champion Yale (127) and Harvard (111).
The Big Green split their games last season with the squads ahead of them in this year’s preseason poll, defeating Yale 17-16 at home on a last-second 51-yard field goal from Owen Zalc and falling to Harvard on the road 31-10.
Dartmouth opens the 2026 season at Lehigh on Sept. 19.
Dartmouth football duo earns preseason honors
Big Green quarterback Grayson Saunier and safety Harrison Keith have been named to the Phil Steele Preseason First Team All-Ivy squad.
Saunier finished last season with 2,143 passing yards and 413 rushing yards, with nine touchdowns through the air and 11 on the ground. Keith was tied for the Ivy League high in interceptions with four last year.
Women’s hoops heads overseas
On Sunday, the Big Green women’s basketball team began its first overseas tour, with a schedule that includes five exhibition games amid stops in Portugal and Spain.
“We are especially grateful to a very generous anonymous donor whose belief in our vision and investment in the future of Dartmouth women’s basketball has made this program-changing opportunity possible,” said Dartmouth women’s basketball head coach Linda Cimino in a news release. “Their support is helping us build something special that extends far beyond the game.”
The Big Green finished the season 10-17 overall last season and 1-13 in conference play. Those 10 wins were the most for the program since the 2019-2020 season, when it also had 10.
Men’s lacrosse gets a new offensive coordinator
Max Waldbaum, who most recently served as an assistant offensive coach at Tufts University, has been chosen for the role as the Big Green’s offensive coordinator.
Before coaching, Waldbaum played three years of lacrosse at Tufts before playing another two years at Jacksonville University.
“I’m extremely grateful to coach (Sean) Kirwan and Dartmouth College for this opportunity to coach and provide insight,” Waldbaum said in a news release.
The Big Green’s new hire will be tasked with leading an offense that was fifth in the Ivy League last season in goals per game with 11.46. Dartmouth finished 4-9 overall last season and was 0-6 in conference play.
