Hanover, N.H. —
She attended the Packer Collegiate Institute in Brooklyn and graduated from Vassar College in 1945. She worked first at Bell Labs in N.Y. and then under Grace Hopper at the Harvard Computation Laboratory in Cambridge, Mass.
In 1947 she married Richard J. Rawson, and the couple eventually settled in Riverside, Conn., where they raised their five children. While raising her family, Connie was active in the Democratic Party in Greenwich and the Vassar Alumnae Association. She enjoyed attending Vassar and Packer alumnae events and remained lifelong friends with several of her Packer classmates.
In 1966, Connie and Dick bought a second home in West Windsor, Vt. They enjoyed making improvements to the house and property over the years and spent many happy times there entertaining family and friends.
In retirement, they traveled far and wide, their adventures taking them to such places as Australia, Hawaii, Chile, and Europe, as well as many car trips around the United States and Canada. Connie had an active and curious mind, read widely, and was an avid crossword puzzle solver, interests which she has passed on to her children.
She was predeceased by her husband and her eldest son, Kit. She is survived by her sister, Edie MacDonald, of Sacramento, Calif.; her children, John of Old Greenwich, Conn., Tom of Eastsound, Wash., Katie of Wilder, Vt., and Peter of Tariffville, Conn.; two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
A private memorial will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to Abilis or to the Planned Parenthood Federation of America.
