Lebanon — Kyle Pelletier hit the game-winning RBI that squeaked into the left-center gap in the ninth inning to lift Lebanon High to a 2-1 extra-inning baseball victory over Hanover on Tuesday afternoon.

Hanover starting pitcher David Lehmann went the full 8⅓ innings and allowed six hits, one earned run and two walks, striking out one in the effort. Lebanon’s Derek Griffin also went the distance, striking out seven and allowing no walks.

“They kind of dominated us just a week ago,” Lebanon head coach Doug Ashey said. “I thought we’d be ready today. … Our defense was much better today than it was up there.”

The Marauders fell to 6-4.

Lebanon got on the board first with one run in the first inning on an RBI single from Ryan Nicholson that drove in Tom Berthasavage from third base. Hanover tied the game in the sixth with an RBI from Charlie Goodrich that drove in Lehmann.

Goodrich finished the game 3-for-4 at the plate, and Lehmann added two hits. The pair also stole two bases each. The Marauders managed eight hits in the loss.

“I’m proud of my kids today,” Ashey said. “We’re starting to get the fundamentals.”

Lebanon had no outs and the bases loaded in the seventh inning but could not score, forcing extra innings. In the ninth, Pelletier’s hit drove in Hunter Boutin from second base to lift the Raiders to 3-9. It was Lebanon’s first win since May 5 and the lowest-scoring game both teams have played all spring.

Both teams are back in action today, with Hanover traveling to Laconia and Lebanon hosting Coe-Brown Northwood.

Sharon 10 Whitcomb-Rochester 4

Bethel — The Phoenix broke it open with seven runs in the final three innings to improve to 5-3.

Aidan Trimble started the game for Sharon, giving up four runs on two hits and nine walks in 5⅓ innings. He also struck out six Whitchester batters. Mountaineers starter Timber Russell and relief pitcher Matt Brown combined for 12 strikeouts in the loss.

Kyle Hedgepeth was 3-for-5 with a triple and two RBIs for Sharon. Chris Pellegrino added two hits, a walk and three RBIs. Zach Rhoades paced the Whitchester offense with a hit and a run.

The Phoenix host Blue Mountain today. Whitchester falls to 2-8.

South Royalton 16Rivendell 5

Orford — South Royalton’s Dominick Small struck out eight and allowed seven hits, five runs and two walks over six innings to lift the Royals to 10-1.

George Carr scored four runs and provided four RBIs for the Royals. Carr hit a three-RBI triple in the fourth inning to lead a four-run rally by South Royalton, which scored five times in the first inning and never trailed.

Rivendell’s Lennart Burgwedel had his first varsity hit. Charlie Bradley was 1-for-2 with two RBIs and a triple. The Raptors used four pitchers in the loss.

Rivendell (3-4) hosts Chelsea on Thursday. South Royalton travels to Leland & Gray on Thursday.

Softball

Hanover 4, Mascoma 3

Norwich — Sam Gibbs entered the game in the third inning, getting Hanover out of a jam with two outs and two runners on base, and pitched the rest of the way with one strikeout, one hit and no walks to give the Marauders their second consecutive win.

Bella Bardales was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI for the Marauders (3-8). Becca Wilson, who started the game with four strikeouts in the first 2⅓ innings, also scored, as did Olivia Peterson. Hanover broke a 2-2 tie with two runs in the fifth.

Mascoma scored one run with two outs in the seventh to cut into the lead. Samantha Pecararo struck out six and allowed 10 hits in the circle for the Royals. She also scored twice, once in the seventh on an RBI triple from Raeleigh Mansur.

Hanover hosts Newport on Thursday. Mascoma (3-7) travels to Newfound on Thursday.

Whitcomb-Rochester 28Mount St. Joseph 0 (5)

Bethel — Anna Smith and Kayla Townsend hit home runs and Sammy Barcomb was 6-for-6 with five runs scored as the Mountaineers stayed undefeated at 8-0.

Chelsie Trask struck out five and allowed two hits, two walks and no runs in a complete game. She was also 4-for-5 with two doubles and five RBIs. Smith and Townsend were both 3-for-4 at the plate. Whitchester entertains Cabot today and hosts a doubleheader with Blue Mountain on Friday.

South Royalton 22Rivendell 0 (5)

Orford — Hannah White had two hits and Blake Southworth provided a bunt and a hit to help lift the Royals over the Raptors.

Paige Ballentine struck out two and allowed one walk in three innings. Taylor Rogers pitched the last two innings in relief. South Royalton scored in every inning and broke out with nine runs in the fifth to improve to 3-4.

Natalie Martin and Katelyn Woodbeck pitched for Rivendell, striking out five and walking 16 batters combined. Woodbeck and Eadie Molesworth had hits in the fifth inning for the Raptors (1-9).

South Royalton hosts Cabot on Thursday. Cabot on Friday, on the road.

Boys Lacrosse

Nashua South 7Hanover 6 (ot)

Hanover — Graham Penfield scored four times as the Marauders fell to 5-9.

Mason Winter made seven saves in net. Charlie Baughman and Pete Warhold added goals, and Alex Mosenthal provided an assist. The teams were tied, 2-2, at halftime. Hanover travels to Souhegan on Thursday.

Girls Lacrosse

Hartford 16, Colchester 15

Colchester, Vt. — Morgan Pero led the way with five goals to pace the Hartford offense.

The Canes (9-3) led, 9-7, at halftime and held on to a one-goal lead in the final 2½ minutes of the fourth quarter for the victory.

Michaela Ricker scored four goals with one assist, and Alice Dwyer added three goals and a helper. Emi Harlow made 13 saves.

“It was an exciting game, back and forth,” Hartford head coach Heather Hartford said. “Overall, it was a good team effort to pull it out.”

The Canes travel to Chelsea on Friday.

Laconia 21, Lebanon 11

Lebanon — The Raiders fell to 3-7 while the Sachems rose to 8-3.

Jessie Hastings had three goals and two assists, and Clara Cole, Libby Stone and Katie Berthasavage each had two goals. Megan Gradijan and Emma Hansen each scored once, Sydney Gonyea had an assist and Lena Nowell made eight saves. Coach Sara Ecker credited Izzy Peress with a strong showing on draw controls.

Lebanon hosts St. Thomas (3-6) today in its third game in as many days.
