Seanon May led the Engineers (1-1) at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBIs and two stolen bases. Corey Bemis, a freshman, was 2-for-2 with a walk and three runs scored. Travis Stoddard was 1-for-3 with two runs and three RBIs.
“I thought we did a nice job putting the ball in play,” said Woodsville coach Brent Cox, whose team had 10 hits. “Only two walks. We didn’t strike out, which was good. We still need to work on squaring up to the ball. But we were much more relaxed than our first game.”
Sunapee 5, Farmington 0

Pitchers Quinn Fair and Nick Ducharme put Sunapee (1-0) in a position to win with their work on the mound. A sophomore, Fair fanned nine, walked three and surrendered three hits over five innings. Ducharme claimed the save with three strikeouts and one hit over the final two frames. The Lakers’ defense contributed the triple play in the fourth when Cade Robinson snared a soft liner, relaying to Ducharme to catch a Tiger runner off third base before throwing across the diamond to Lane Smith to get another off first.
Robinson, Ducharme and Matt Nangeroni all scored on passed balls to give Sunapee a three-run lead entering the seventh. Errors, walks and a Fair liner off the Farmington pitcher contributed two more runs to lock down the win. Jordan Chappell doubled for Sunapee’s only hit.
Lebanon 8, Sanborn 7

Eylander relieved Derek Griffin in the home third facing a 5-2 deficit and two runners on base, getting out of the jam without further damage. Eylander went the rest of the way for the victory, fanning five with four walks, two hits and just one earned run.
A three-run sixth brought Lebanon to within 7-6, and two unearned runs in the seventh won the day. Graham Ten Haken reached on an error, Joey Dupree hit safely and Hunter Boutin sacrificed both over. Trey Chickering’s RBI grounder tied the game, and Dupree came home when Sanborn booted a batted ball by Eylander.
Caleb Smith had two RBIs, while Griffin and Boutin contributed one each for Lebanon, which is scheduled to host Bow on Friday.

Claremont’s Noah Spaulding earned the win on the mound, with Meriden’s Eli Jaynes producing the save. Hartland’s Kyle Hammond joined teammates Jeremy Sigl and Arlo Merritt in the two-hit department. Six different Wildcats produced RBIs, and the whole of the Kimball Union lineup amassed 10 hits and 11 walks against Tilton pitching.

Marauder starting pitcher Moises Celeya struck out six and gave up four hits, one walk and no runs in four innings. Pelham got to reliever Nolan Gantrish, however, using a hit and five walks to plate four earned runs in one inning.
Hanover scored its only run in the sixth inning on a fielder’s choice following a Goodrich triple. The Marauders are scheduled to open the home half of the second against Goffstown on Friday.

Newport put up 12 runs on 13 hits in the victory. Kendall Hamilton was 2-for-2 with two RBIs and three runs scored. Stacia Dame was 3-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs. Fall Mountain’s Erin Devanney struck out three in four innings.

Emily Prest and Sarah Britton both had three-hit games and Emma Restelli went 2-for-2 for the Engineers (2-0), all in support of pitchers Alyssa Prest and McKenzie Dennis. Alyssa Prest fanned 10 without a walk over five frames, and Dennis threw the sixth and earned two strikeouts.

Cooney struck out 10 and walked one to take care of the Tigers. Cooney helped herself by joining Mikayla Passage in the two-RBI department, while Ellie Frederick and Erin Moynihan both contributed two-hit games. Freshman Mackenzie Wrightington added an RBI.

Caden White, Lucas Piconi, Jed Ashley and Trevor White provided the goals for the Wasps. Cullen McCarthy set up a pair of goals, Piconi added an assist and goaltender Gabe Marsicovetere finished with 13 saves.

Nine different players scored a goal for Hanover. Miranda Galbraith netted four goals and provided three assists, Sabin Mitchell scored twice and Jess Seibel scored once and finished the game with three helpers. Katelyn Hurd made eight saves in net.

The Marauders (2-1) also recorded a trio of other two-games wins on an afternoon of tight tennis. Matty Siegel topped Schlapak at first singles, 9-7, while No. 3 Meyer and No. 5 Will Tarnowski turned in 8-6 singles victories. Biglow provided Hanover’s other point in an 8-4 defeat of Max Casey at second singles.

Seniors provided four points, as Mindy Wu, Bri Laycock, Ellen Lamm and Grace Li all prevailed. So did Marta Sanchez, who rallied to take fifth singles, 8-5, to clinch the team victory.
Oxbow Teams Third at SJA

Jarret Rock led the Olympian boys, winning the 200-meter dash in 24.60 seconds and finishing second behind Rivendell’s Owen Pelletier (11.40) in the 100 (12.00). Pelletier enjoyed a triple-win day for the fourth-place Raptors, also claiming the high jump (6 feet, 0 inches) and the long jump (20-4).
Calvin Cook added a runner-up in the shot put (37-10.5) for Oxbow. Keelan Durham set an OHS record in the 1,500 with a time of 4:36.00 that was good for fifth.
Izzy Giesing kept up the beat for the Olympian girls, winning the 800 (2:21.00) and 1,500 (5:11.00) and taking second in the triple jump (32-11.5). Hannah Giesing took the 400 in 1:01.70, and both Giesings joined Tyrus Rosten and Abby Bartlett in a winning 4×400 relay effort. Kelly Daigle set a school record in the shot put (35-3.5), placing second.

Boston College reeled off seven straight goals to close the opening half, turning a 5-4 deficit into an 11-5 lead. Dartmouth responded by buckling down on defense, holding the Eagles without a goal for more than 22½ minutes while closing the gap to 11-10. Goals from Dempsey Arsenautl and Sam Apuzzo in a three-minute span gave BC enough of a cushion to prevail.
Campbell Brewer, Ellie Carson, Katie Bourque and Kierra Sweeney all had two goals for the visitors, and Brewer added an assist for a three-point game. Kiera Vrindten made eight saves for Dartmouth.

Sierra Schuster surpassed 100 career points with three goals and two assists, and Sarah Morin scored three times for the Chargers. Kailyn Lapham finished the game with eight saves.

Mikell, a Champlain Valley Union High graduate, hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the sixth of the opener to give the Spartans a sizable advantage. He was 2-for-2 with a walk and two RBIs in nightcap.

Alex Wright won first singles for Colby-Sawyer, 6-1, 6-0. Gustav Jigrup and Nick Mathieu won at first doubles, 8-3, and Andrew Peloguin and Wright won at third doubles, 8-4, for the Chargers’ other points.
Colby-Sawyer travels to Lyndon on Saturday.
