Rockingham, Vt. — Rodney “Rod” Jon Wells, 63, of Rockingham, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2018, in Port Charlotte, Fla. after a three year battle with Cholangiocarcinoma, or bile duct cancer. Rodney was born May 6, 1954, in Lebanon, N.H. to Edwin and Marjorie (Neil) Wells. He graduated from Hartford High School in 1972 and held a Master Electrician’s License in both Vt. and N.H.

He worked in a variety of electrical construction and maintenance positions, most recently as an electrician for Vermont State Parks, which he retired from in 2015.

Rodney enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, geocaching, and spending time with his family (especially with his grandchildren). He’ll be remembered for his sense of humor and being the one that family and friends could always rely on to help.

Rodney is survived by the love of his life, best friend, and wife of 36 years, Beverly (Burnham) Wells of Rockingham; his two children, Sadie Wells and her husband Thomas LaCroix of Canaan, N.H., and Edwin Wells and his wife Kimberly of Rockingham; four grandchildren, Owen and Sara McKinney, and Camden and Logan Wells; his father, Edwin Wells and wife Elizabeth of West Hartford, Vt.; four siblings, Timothy Wells of Westminster, Vt., Gary Wells and his wife, Colleen of West Lebanon, N.H., Cheryl Gilbert and her husband Steve of West Hartford, and Lynda Hart and her husband Randy of West Hartford; several aunts and uncles including: Uncle Dan Wells and Aunt Joan “Joy” Soule, with whom he had special bonds; several cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Marjorie (Neil) Wells and a sister-in-law, Leslie (Kelton) Wells, who passed away on Feb 9th.

A remembrance will be held in the spring.
