Weathersfield — Vermont State Police are asking for the public’s help in locating two males who robbed Downers Corner Store early Friday morning and assaulted an employee.

That employee, June French, was transported to Springfield Hospital for evaluation, according to a news release. Her condition wasn’t known.

The two men, both wearing masks, entered the store on Route 106 in Weathersfield around 4 a.m. on Friday, pushed French and stole a variety of cigarettes and cigars.

Anyone who saw suspicious individuals or vehicles parked in the area around that time are asked to call Vermont State Police at 802-722-4600.
