Bradford, Vt.
Bradford police said the truck’s 50-year-old driver Michael Cassidy, of Bradford, and 29-year-old passenger Dana Hartley, of Piermont, were traveling east on the road shortly before 1 p.m. when the 2001 Mack dump truck rolled over going into a curve onto the bridge.
The truck was carrying a load of manure that slid out of the dump truck’s body and into the roadway and the Connecticut River.
Cassidy was uninjured, and Hartley was treated for facial lacerations at the scene.
Bradford police and fire, as well as Upper Valley Ambulance, responded. Officials from both the Vermont and New Hampshire departments of transportation were called to examine the bridge, and determined the damage was limited to guardrails. The road was opened several hours later after the Vermont Agency of Transportation installed temporary barriers until the guardrails can be replaced.
The incident is under investigation, and anyone who witnessed the crash should call Bradford police at 802-222-4727, ext. 301.
