The Big Green took the second of the two automatic NCAA berths, nipping Syracuse by two points. Providence won the meet with 85 points, followed by Dartmouth (115) and the Orange (117).
The NCAA invitation is the 12th in program history for Dartmouth, an all-time Ivy League high.
Sophomore Julia Stevenson paced the Big Green on the six-kilometer course by taking ninth place in 22 minutes, 4.6 seconds. Junior Olivia Lantz followed in the 13th place (21:17.7). Freshmen Ella Ketchum and Glenny Murphy joined senior Leigh Moffett with a 28-31-34 finish that clinched Dartmouth’s NCAA spot.
The Big Green will be making its first visit to nationals since 2014 when they head to Tom Sawyer Park in Louisville, Ky., a week from today.
Competing on Audubon’s 10K course, the Dartmouth men’s placed 13th in their Northeast qualifier on Friday. Senior Pat Gregory made the most of his final race for the Big Green, earning a team-best 36th-place result in 32:58.8. Syracuse (28 points) and Iona (48) claimed NCAA invitations.

Cornell got goals in each period, starting with Mitch Vanderlaan (first period) and Trevor Yates (second). Anthony Angello’s breakaway score in the third came 1:03 into the final frame and just as a Dartmouth power play expired.
Big Red freshman goaltender Matthew Galajda made it stand up with 16 saves for his second shutout of the year.
Dartmouth’s Devin Buffalo finished with 28 saves. Buffalo was peppered with shots from the start of the game, making 14 stops in the opening period, including a pair of great individual efforts to stop a breakaway and an open-look one-timer just 15 seconds apart.

Eden Murray scored twice for the Bulldogs, while teammates Emma Vlasic, Julia Yetman and Laura Anderson added one apiece.
Kate Landers scored Dartmouth’s lone goal, assisted by Christina Rombaut
Big Green goalie Christine Honor had 22 saves, and Yale’s Kyra O’Brien made 28.

Lippold was 3-for-4 from the 3-point line. She also had a team-high five steals. Teammate Kate Letkewicz was right behind her with 18 points and nine rebounds, and Isalys Quinones added 10 points. Kate Letkewicz had nine rebounds for the Big Green. Cassidy Derda led Vermont with 15 points.

Freshman Mallen Bischoff ended the night with 15 kills to lead both teams. She also had a .394 hitting percentage. Sophomore Tori Dozier had a double-double with 39 assists and 10 digs.
