Southern Pines, N.C. —
Stowe was born Aug. 6, 1980, in Concord, N.H. He attended St. Stephens Academy and the David Leadbetter Golf School/Bollettieri Sports Academy in Bradenton, Fla. He graduated from Kearsarge Regional High School, where he played on the basketball, tennis and golf teams.
He was a member of the National Honor Society. While in high school, Stowe was a volunteer with the New London Fire Department.
Stowe graduated from the University of Missouri at Columbia, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. Kidder was a member of the Missouri Golf Team (Big 12, Division 1). He was an Academic All American and lettered in the sport. Stowe was also a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity.
Stowe worked in the Moore County School District and coached the high school golf teams. He was a volunteer for the U.S. Kids Golf program. He also volunteered at the local hospital in the children’s cancer wing, where he arranged putting contests in the halls for the children. The children whose lives he touched, adored him. He was a volunteer at the SPCA, and encouraged people to adopt rescue dogs.
Stowe enjoyed fishing, playing the piano and drums, woodworking, and, his passion, golf. He won numerous junior golf tournaments and, won the club championship at the Lake Sunapee Country Club on his 18th birthday. He was a member of the Lake Sunapee Yacht Club, and, grew up sailing, swimming and playing tennis. He spent many wonderful winter days skiing at King Ridge Ski Area.
Stowe was a special friend, his smile could light up a room, and he always had a twinkle in his eye. Words cannot capture how much he will be missed.
Stowe was predeceased by his grandparents, Bill and Petie Kidder of New London, N.H., Lee and Evelyn Rossi of St. Louis, Mo.; and his uncle, Bill Kidder, Jr. of New London.
He is survived by his parents, David and Janet Kidder of New London; his brother, Drew Kidder (Katie, niece Victoria) of Chicago, Ill.; aunt, Marilyn Kidder; and cousins, Will (Sara), Putnam (Kara) all of New London; his uncle, Lee Rossi (Elisabeth) of San Carlos, Calif.; good friends, Sally Anderson, Robert McFadden and the Anderson family, of Southern Pines.
Stowe’s family and friends will gather in his memory next summer at his beloved Kidder Point on Pleasant Lake.
