North Haverhill — A 34-year-old Connecticut man has pleaded guilty to criminal threatening after police say he sent text message threats to a witness in his pending drug case.

Matthew Clair, of Hamden, Conn., also pleaded guilty at the end of August to possessing marijuana. The state also dismissed seven felony charges against Clair.

Clair received two 12-month sentences, with all but 60 days suspended for three years. He will remain on probation for two years, according to Grafton County Attorney Lara Saffo.

Police arrested Clair on Oct. 12, 2016, on drug possession charges. Twelve days later, police arrested him for threatening a witness in his drug case, Lebanon police said in a news release at the time.
