Lebanon — A Weare, N.H., woman who police say caused a multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of Heater and Old Etna roads that resulted in the difficult extrication of a 5-year-old boy was issued a traffic ticket for failing to stop at a stop sign.

Tabitha Plante was traveling on Heater Road on Monday afternoon when she drove through the intersection and hit a vehicle driven by Jessie Watson, of Lebanon, police said in a news release.

After hitting Watson’s vehicle, Plante struck a second car driven by Betty Wilson, of Enfield, police said.

Watson’s son’s foot became lodged under a seat during the crash, resulting in a lengthy extrication, the release states.

The boy and his mother were taken to the hospital with injuries. Wilson also was treated.

Plante received a $124 summons.

After the crash, police arrested a Jared Plante, 21, also of Weare, N.H., on charges of criminal threatening and disorderly conduct after he threatened a tow truck driver. He was released on $2,500 personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in Lebanon District Court on Dec. 18.

He wasn’t a passenger in the vehicle at the time, Lebanon Police Chief Richard Mello said. Mello isn’t aware of his relation to Tabitha Plante.
