Hanover — Kendal at Hanover has limited visits to and from the senior residential community in the past two weeks because of concerns about the spread of norovirus, but started to ease the restrictions this week, officials said on Tuesday.

Two residents were diagnosed with confirmed cases of norovirus, and “several other residents had symptoms similar to norovirus,” according to Kendal at Hanover spokesman Jeff Roosevelt. Norovirus is a “very contagious virus” that causes inflammation of the stomach or intestines and can lead to nausea, diarrhea and vomiting, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Kendal at Hanover, which is home to more than 400 residents, limited the number of gatherings at the Route 10 facility and also asked residents not to bring visitors in, Roosevelt said.
