Windsor — A baker’s dozen of Upper Valley high school standouts will get one final chance to represent their schools on the hardwood in today’s Vermont Basketball Coaches Association Senior All-Star Game at Windsor High School.

The 13 athletes, announced this week, will participate in interdivisional contests pitting North and South squads beginning at 11 a.m. The majority will play in the Division III-IV games that will kickoff the day.

Oxbow’s Kayleigh Trojanowski and Sara Walker will suit up for the D-III/IV North roster for the day’s opening game. The South squad includes three players from Thetford Academy’s recent VPA D-III state championship squad — Dahlia Klarich, Regan Covey and Emily Emerson — along with TA coaches Eric Ward and Jeff Vaughan. Windsor’s Ashleay Wilcox and Anika Abrahamsen were also chosen for the South all-star team.

The D-III/IV boys take the floor at 1 p.m. Rivendell’s Shane Smith and Thetford’s Connor Brown will play for the North, while Sharon’s Harvey Kelley and South Royalton’s Nicholas Howe and Dalton McDougall will line up in South colors.

The Upper Valley’s remaining representative will play in the day’s late game, pitting the D-I/II boys against each other at 5 p.m. Hartford guard Gavin Farnsworth will play for the South, with Hurricanes coach Steven Landon assisting Brattleboro coach Jason Coplan.

The VBCA will hand out a variety of awards as part of a busy schedule. That will include Division III girls coach of the year honors for Windsor’s Bruce Mackay; career 1,000-point recognition for South Royalton’s Howe; release of the Dream Dozen underclass all-star teams, both of which have significant Upper Valley representation; and a variety of other awards.
