Also known as paddle tennis or simply paddle, platform tennis is played on smaller courts than traditional tennis and with composite fiberglass rackets speckled with grit to help absorb impact of balls made of compound rubber.
The Green Mountain Open is sanctioned by the American Paddle Tennis Association.

The victory left the Fire tied in points at the top of New England Premiership 1 North, but it placed second because of a goal differential tiebreaker.
Jack Maynes backstopped the Fire’s win behind a strong defense led by Jack Ross, Palmer Okai, Jack McGarth and Jack Gardner.
The Fire lost its first game of the season before turning things around in a hurry.
“Losing our first game was a gift that inspired the boys to work harder all season,” LSC Fire coach Tommy Clark said.
“After that we might have won the league by scoring more goals in certain games, but we’d rather give players the opportunity to play a range of positions and make sure both teams feel good about a game, than to score more in games that were already in hand.”
