Wilson, N.C. — Angus K. Chapman, Jr., 59, formerly of Canaan, N.H. died suddenly Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016, at his home in Wilson. He was born June 24, 1957, in Lebanon, N.H. to the late Angus K. and Helene H. (Ibey) Chapman.

He attended Canaan Elementary School and graduated from Mascoma Valley Regional High School in 1975. He went on to graduate from Eisenhower College (Seneca Falls, N.Y.) in 1979 with a BA Degree, majoring in Mathematics and Sociology. After graduation, he embarked on a cross country journey, ultimately to find his heart and home in the City of Angels; Los Angeles, Calif., where he lived for the next 24+ years. While in LA, he had a successful career in banking, with the last twelve years as Director of Marketing at Fannie Mae in Pasadena, before retiring in 1997. Once retired and for the next five years, he acquired his real estate license and started buying and renovating homes in LA. After leaving LA in 2003, he lived in Albuquerque, N.M. and Tucson, Ariz., where he sold real estate. In 2008, he returned to the east coast, living in New Hampshire and then eventually settling in North Carolina. There he loved working with his team as Personnel Manager at Walmart in Wilson.

Angus had deep love and pride for his son, Gus and his grandson Adrian. They were his lifeblood. Angus loved music, reading, playing cribbage, backgammon, and spending time with his family and friends. His unique and witty intellect was appreciated by all that knew him. His clever streak and competitive nature combined to form a loyal and undeniably charismatic person. He was a jokester and a wonderful storyteller. He had the ability to make deep rooted friendships that lasted for decades. Most memorable for him were the annual trips to Telluride with a circle of his closest friends.
