Hanover — The top-seeded Dartmouth College women’s rugby team defeated Brown in the Ivy League semifinals, 45-14, at Brophy Field on Saturday afternoon.

With the win, the Big Green advance to the Ivy Championship next weekend at Harvard.

Isabel Boettcher, Kat Ramage and Frankie Sands all ended the day with double-digit points. Boettcher led the team with 12 points on two tries and a conversion. Ramage had a try and three conversions for 11 points. Sands started the scoring with the first try of the afternoon and would go on to add another in the Big Green’s second win over Brown this fall.

Ashli Cook scored prior to intermission, giving Dartmouth a 28-0 lead at the break.

The Big Green visits Harvard a week from today at 2 p.m. to play for the Ivy League title.

Men’s Soccer Harvard 1, Dartmouth 0

Hanover — The Big Green came out on the short end in a matchup at Burnham Field between the top two teams in the Ivy League.

With the loss, Dartmouth is now 5-4-5 overall, 3-1-1 in conference play, while the Crimson improve to 10-3-2 overall, 4-0-1 in league play.

The Crimson scored the only goal of the contest in the 79th minute when Sam Brown blasted a shot from about 20 yards out that found the back of the net.

Despite the loss, Dartmouth is still alive in the race for its third consecutive league championship, with games upcoming against Cornell and Brown. The Big Green will host Northeastern on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Women’s Soccer Harvard 2, Dartmouth 0

Hanover — The Big Green fell to rival Harvard on senior day at Burnham Field.

The loss drops the Big Green to 6-6-2 overall, 0-4-2 in the Ivy League, while the Crimson improve to 9-3-3, 3-0-2 in conference play. Prior to the contest, Dartmouth honored its six seniors, including the Big Green’s goalkeeper, Casey Cousineau, who finished the afternoon with six saves.

The Big Green visits UMass Lowell on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Women’s Hockey Clarkson 6, Dartmouth 1

Potsdam, n.y. — Freshman Christina Rombaut scored her first collegiate goal in Dartmouth’s loss at Clarkson in Cheel Arena.

Sophomore Alyssa Baker and senior Kennedy Ottenbreit both picked up their first helpers of the year. Sophomore goalie Christie Honor played her second full game of the season, ending the day with 28 saves for the Big Green (0-4-0 overall, 0-3-0 Ivy League).

Dartmouth will have a weekend away from the ice and will return on Nov. 11-12 when it hosts Quinnipiac and Princeton.

Field HockeyHarvard 3, Dartmouth 1

Hanover — Harvard got a Bente van Vlijmen hat trick to defeat the Big Green at Chase AstroTurf Field and clinch at least a share of the Ivy League title.

Dartmouth (4-11 overall, 0-6 Ivy) got a late goal from junior captain Morgan Philie, but it wasn’t enough to close the gap in defeat. The team honored three members of the Class of 2017 after the game as part of senior day, recognizing Paige Duffy, Joanne Nazareth and Heather Zezzo.

Princeton, n.j. — The Big Green men took fourth and the women were seventh at the Ivy League Heptagonal Championship at Princeton.

Julian Heninger led the Dartmouth men in seventh place, running the 8K course in 24:08. Helen Schlachtenhaufen was 14th in 20:57 over the 6K course to lead the Big Green women.

Women’s VolleyballPenn 3, Dartmouth 2

Hanover — The Big Green (8-13, 1-9) fought back from a two-set deficit, but the visiting Quakers earned the win with a 25-23, 25-21, 19-25, 23-25, 15-13 nailbiter at Leede Arena.

Four Big Green players ended with with double-doubles: seniors Danielle Glinka (21 digs, 11 kills) and Emily Astarita (24 digs, 15 kills), sophomore Zoe Leonard (21 digs, 35 assists) and freshman Maddy Schoenberger (14 digs, 19 assists).
