Thetford
The Panthers have done little wrong through five matches, allowing just one goal and recording four shutouts. The latest came on Wednesday, with TA posting a 2-0 win over Rivendell. Now 5-0-0 on the year, Thetford has a firm grip on the top spot in Vermont Division III, owning a 17-1 edge in goal differential.
TA held much of the possession through the early stages of the first half, finally taking the lead with a little help from the Raptors (1-3-0). Freshman Lily MacVeagh dribbled down the left flank and delivered a line-drive cross into the Rivendell area that deflected off of a defender and into the net for an own goal.
The Raptors produced several dangerous attacks after halftime, but senior Taylor Hollis doubled the hosts’ lead in the 62nd minute. Kate Vaughn set up the goal, a shot to the corner from the top of the penalty area.
TA gets a big test on Saturday in a trip to second-ranked Stowe (3-1-0). The Raptors will look for a better result when they travel to Chelsea on Friday.
Harwood 1, Hartford 1
White River Junction
The Highlanders scored in the 44th minute to seize the game’s first lead, answered one minute later by Hartford’s Abigail Koff.
“Harwood’s a quality team, a perennial D-II power,” Hartford coach Jeff Acker said. It’s good to have our nonleague games against good teams from the north.”
The Canes return to Marble Valley League action on Saturday, visiting Springfield.
Conway, n.h.
The Eagles scored the match’s first goal, but Lebanon took care of the contest from that point forward. Shelby Hanks answered Kennett’s incursion with a tying strike on an Emily Bourne pass before halftime. The Raiders took the lead for good on an Anna Wolke PK 17 minutes into the second half. Cecelia Webber had the insurance goal with 10 minutes to go, but Lebanon required two spectacular saves from goalkeeper Kassidee Rogers in the late going to lock down the decision.
Sunapee
Katie Frederick, Maryann Cousens, Hannah Cooney and Mary Grzanna (assist) added one goal apiece.
Lynnsey Trabka, Ellie Frederick, Faith Larpenter and Jessica Parsons also notched assists for the Lakers, while Suzanne Rickard was there for two saves.
Claremont
Jenna Pond and Beth McNamara added a goal and an assist each, while Brooke Bonneau and Sydney Miller notched a goal apiece. Julia Belaire added an assist for the Cards.
Annie Soho scored on a penalty kick and assisted on Ava Sutton’s goal for Windsor (1-4).
Amber Duford and Kaitlyn Chambers split time in net for the Cards, as did Windsor’s Kaycee Herschel and Hannah Kemp after the former went down with a cheekbone injury in the first half.
Meriden
Meriden native Julia Surgenor also scored for Kimball Union, her first goal of the campaign.
Bradford, Vt.
Oxbow jumped to a 2-0 lead with goals 11 minutes apart in the first half. Lindsey Carbee netted the first on a Zoe Barton helper with 23:58 remaining before halftime, and Melanie Neil doubled the O’s advantage with 12:58 to go by scoring on a pass from Schyler Hanzas.
Hazen drew within a goal before halftime and took over after the break. The winning goal came on a penalty kick with 20 minutes left; Oxbow had three scoring chances close to goal late but saw all three miss the mark.
Claremont
Drew Grenier tallied twice, Ethan Sweet added a goal and both contributed assists to the victory, the Cardinals’ seventh in a row since a season-opening shutout loss to Derryfield. Mitchell Paquette also assisted for Stevens (7-1-0).
“We continued to play at a great level tonight,” Stevens coach Jason Stone said. “We are preaching consistency right now. The boys are really settling into their roles and are sharing the ball incredibly well.”
The Cards face a test in a match against Mascoma on Friday. Next up for Windsor: a home date with Green Mountain next Wednesday at MacLeay-Royce Field.
Sunapee
Hasting knocked home the only goal Sunapee (4-3-0) would need in the 25th minute, pushing the rebound of a corner-fed shot off the fingers of the Kingsmens’ goalkeeper. Carson Garland fed Vincent for a second Sunapee strike 10 minutes later following a series of passes, and Vincent clinched the win with his team-best fifth goal of the campaign in the match’s final 10 minutes.
Will Palin needed five saves for the shutout win.
Hartford 2, Woodstock 0
Woodstock
It was the first loss for the Wasps (4-1-1).
Woodstock’s Oliver Wilson made six saves, while Hartford’s Jordy Allard stopped five shots.

Kennedy Mullen scored the lone goal a minute into the second half, receiving a feed over the middle from Caitlin Gaudet before sending one past the Wasps’ Molly Henne (two saves). Hartford won despite playing without leading scorer Brooke Hurd (illness).

Cameron Gebo’s 1-under-par 34 on Newport Golf Club’s front nine was good for the medal, and Gabe Edwards (41), Brandon Whalen (44) and Bryce Turner (44) occupied the next three top scores.
Sunapee placed third, paced by Zack Bourque (53), Kier Lucas (57), Connor Fleury (57) and Austin Davis (61).

The Marauders’ Phin Choukas co-medaled with HB’s Josh Farmer, each shooting even-par 36s on Portsmouth’s front nine. Chris Sundaram (40), Brian Seltzer (41) and Jack Brendel (43) were right behind for Hanover, while Gavin Koehler and junior varsity callup Kyle Rozzi, a sophomore, each shot 45 for the Marauders.

Hanover
Heneghan’s effort — which included two touchdown passes in the final five minutes for the upset of the 22nd-ranked Wildcats — helped Dartmouth end a 20-game losing streak stretching 40 years against its in-state rival. The California native finished 22-for-46 for 229 yards and three touchdowns.

Jonasson scored less than four minutes after his substitution into the match, converting an Alex Triadis pass shortly after Dartmouth goalkeeper Henry Stusnick denied a bid from Hartford’s Udi Cohen. Stusnick finished with two saves in his first start in the Big Green net this season.
New London
Mohamed Kenaway took a through pass from teammate Joshua Khang and beat Colby-Sawyer netminder Jake Towle from the left side for the decisive strike. Despite the goal, Towle made 10 stops to keep the Chargers in the contest.

Rachel Quaye broke the scoreless match on a rebound in the 71st minute, to which the Lyons’ Brooke Collard answered on a free kick with 1:15 to play in regulation. Megan Healy headed home a cross from Katharine Chura with 2:01 left in the second extra period to send Wheaton (8-0-0) home victorious.
New London
Down 2-1, Mullen and Jones scored 2½ minutes apart late in the first half to put Colby-Sawyer ahead to stay, The Chargers stretched the run to five goals when Jones, Jordan Teixeira and Jones again scored in the span of 3:14 to open the second half for a comfortable 6-2 lead.
Colby-Sawyer opens conference play at New England College on Saturday.
