Nearly 9,000 pounds of beef produced by a North Haverhill processing plant has been recalled due to an E. coli outbreak, according to a news release from the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services.
An investigation conducted by the U.S. Department of Agriculture found 14 cases of illness associated beef products produced by PT Farm LLC, the release said.
The recall, issued by the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service, is for 8,800 pounds of raw ground beef produced by PT Farm’s processing plant in North Haverhill between June 6 and June 16 of this year. The recall includes “various weights and various sizes of raw non-intact” beef products packed in cardboard boxes from Chestnut Farms, PT Farm, Miles Smith Farm and Robie Farm, according to the release.
The release said the specific retail locations where the beef was sold will be posted online in the coming days.
