Matthew Killam, a summertime Lake Sunapee resident who formerly played out of Newport Golf Club, had the low round among locals at 4-over-par 74, but his 61st-place standing won’t get him to the final day of play if he stays where he is following today’s second round. The same goes for former Dartmouth golfer Andrew Jankowski (T-61st, 74), Hanover Country Club’s Nate Choukas (T-77th, 75) and another summertime golfer, Scott Killam (153rd, 85).
Connor Daly, an alternate out of the Basin Harbor Club in Vergennes, Vt., and Connecticut’s Brian Carlson share the first round lead at 3-under 67. The top 40 golfers and ties after today’s round advance to Thursday’s 36-hole final day.
