Claremont
Sarah Carr, 35, of Claremont, will be arraigned today in Newport Superior Court on a charge of conspiracy to commit receiving stolen property, a charge similar to the one her husband, Jeffrey Buzzell, faces.
Prosecutors this May said recorded phone conversations in March between Buzzell and Carr while Buzzell was incarcerated on unrelated charges provided police with evidence to charge him with receiving stolen property in connection with the home invasion.
Last May, police said, two men forced their way into Christine and Arthur Beebe’s River Road home late at night, tied Christine Beebe up in the basement and stole jewelry and several gold and silver coins and bars.
The Beebes own and operate Twin State Coin and Treasures, a coin and gold shop in West Lebanon.
Buzzell currently is being held at the Sullivan County House of Corrections, as is Carr.
The time of her arraignment wasn’t available on Thursday evening.
Bradford, Vt.
The money, in the form of a deferred loan, will allow the Barre, Vt.-based nonprofit Downstreet Housing & Community Development to rehabilitate 21 apartments for seniors and families, a news release from the governor said.
That work will take place in four buildings off South Main Street and is expected to begin in January, according to Downstreet’s executive director, Eileen Peltier.
“This project is an excellent example of our commitment to rural Vermont communities and the benefit our projects bring to Vermonters,” Peltier said in an email.
The grants are funded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s block program in community development, Wednesday’s release said.
Bradford is the only Upper Valley community to receive funds from Wednesday’s grant; the other recipients are Arlington, Brattleboro, Bennington, Lunenburg, Rochester, Rutland and St. Johnsbury.
