Providence, r.i. — The Dartmouth College softball team stayed perfect in Ivy League play on Sunday, sweeping Brown, 2-1 and 4-2.

The Big Green is 24-10 overall, 12-0 in conference play. The Bears dropped to 16-16 and 5-7.

Dartmouth ace Morgan McCalmon outdueled her Brown counterpart, Katie Orona, for the second day in a row in the opener. McCalmon fanned two without a walk to earn her 14th win. Morgan Martinelli’s first-inning RBI double and Katie McEachern’s RBI double to plate Martinelli in the second accounted for the Big Green’s scoring.

Sophomore Breanna Ethridge struck out two and walked one over five innings for the win in game two. Maddie Damore scored runs in the first and fourth innings for the visitors, who built a 4-0 lead.

The Big Green returns home for a four-game league series with Yale this weekend.

Providence, r.i. — Dartmouth nearly doubled its season-best run output in Sunday’s opener, but the Bears threw a shutout of their own to gain a doubleheader split.

The Big Green is 11-20 overall and 5-5 in the Ivy League. Brown dropped to 11-18 and 5-7.

Beau Sulser twirled a four-hit shutout in game one for Dartmouth. Second baseman Dustin Shirley and designated hitter Rob Emery both had three-hit games to front a 14-hit Big Green assault.

Max Ritchie put Dartmouth’s sweep plans in a box in the nightcap, throwing five innings of two-hit ball for the victory. Clay Chatham took the loss for the Big Green.

Dartmouth makes up a postponed league doubleheader at Cornell on Wednesday. A sweep would leave the Big Green tied with Yale atop the league’s Red Rolfe Division heading into Saturday and Sunday doubleheaders with the Bulldogs in Hanover.

Husson 5, Colby-Sawyer 4Colby-Sawyer 15, Husson 0

New London — The Chargers (10-14, 7-9) split their second North Atlantic Conference twinbill with Husson in as many days.

Colby-Sawyer had game one in order, holding a 3-0 into the top of the seventh only to have the Eagles plate five runs for the eventual victory. The Chargers scratched back with a run in the home seventh, but their comeback expired with two men on base.

Colby-Sawyer rebounded with 17 hits in the nightcap rout. Jeff Dunne went 4-for-4 and drove in four runs to lead the Chargers, who also got three RBIs from Connor Henry and Nathan Frongillo.

The Chargers visit Lyndon State on Wednesday.

Women’s LacrosseColby-Sawyer 13, Norwich 7

New London — Bailey Starr struck for a hat trick as the Chargers (7-6) won their senior day game over the Cadets in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup.

Caitlyn Whearty, Nicole Lavigne, Maryalice Gurnee and Sara Berry all scored twice for Colby-Sawyer, which owned a 6-3 lead at the half.

The Chargers have a quick turnaround, with a home date against Johnson State today.

Men’s TennisDartmouth 4, Yale 1

New Haven, Conn. — The Big Green (16-8, 5-1) made it five straight Ivy League wins by dominating the Bulldogs at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center.

Dartmouth grabbed the doubles point with wins at the first and third positions. Senior Dovydas Sakinis and freshman Eddie Grabill quickly added singles wins, and sophomore Ciro Riccardi’s straight-sets win at No. 2 singles secured the victory.

Dartmouth visits Harvard on Saturday to close its regular season.

Women’s TennisDartmouth 4, Yale 3

Hanover — The Big Green (12-6, 3-3) bounced back from a doubles deficit to nip the Bulldogs.

Dartmouth collected four straight singles wins after surrendering the doubles points. Taylor Ng, Kristina Mathis, Jacquline Crawford and Julie Schroeder all won in straight sets to decide the day Dartmouth’s way.

The Big Green hosts Harvard on Saturday to close its regular season.

Women’s GolfBig Green Fourth

Portsmouth, r.i. — Dartmouth took fourth place in the four-team Brown Bear Match Play Tournament, its final tune-up before this weekend’s league championship.

Having lost to Penn in Saturday’s opening match, the Big Green fell to Brown, 5-3, in Sunday’s consolation contest. Tara Simmons and Catharine Roddy each recorded wins for Dartmouth.

The three-day Ivy League Championship starts Friday in Greenwich, Conn.
