Providence, r.i. — The Dartmouth College baseball team split a doubleheader with Brown on Saturday, losing the first game, 4-2, before taking the second game, 4-3.

The Big Green is 10-19, 4-4 in the Ivy League, while the Bears are 10-17 overall and 4-6 in the Ivy League.

In game one, Kevin Guthrie, Josh Huntley and Brian Ginsberg had two hits apiece to pace Brown, while pitcher Christian Taugner (5-1) tossed a seven-hitter.

Dustin Shirley and Nick Ruppert each had two hits for Dartmouth, and Michael Ketchmark drove home two runs. Duncan Robinson (3-4) allowed eight hits and two earned runs over six innings while striking out 10.

In game two, a three-run sixth propelled the Big Green past the Bears. Shirley was 3-for-5 with two runs scored, and teammate Thomas Roulis was 3-for-5 with two RBIs and Kyle Holbrook was 2-for-4.

Michael Danielak (2-2) allowed two runs, both earned, over 3 innings of relief. Reid Anderson (0-4) took the loss for Brown.

New London — Colby-Sawyer (9-13, 6-8 NAC) split a twin bill with Husson (14-11, 9-3).

In game one, Brendan Thurber’s single in the bottom of the seventh inning scored pitcher Connor Henry to snap a 3-3 tie and give the Chargers the walk-off win.

Henry tossed a complete game, giving up one earned run on four hits, to improve to 3-1.

In game two, Husson opened the game with four runs in the top of the first and never looked back.

Providence, r.i. — Dartmouth (22-10, 10-0 Ivy League) continued its dominant play against Ivy teams by sweeping the first two games of a four-game series on the road at Brown (16-14, 5-5).

In game 1, Dartmouth’s Morgan McCalmon prevailed in a showdown against fellow Ivy League co-pitcher of the week Katie Orona. McCalmon (13-3) pitched a complete game with zero walks and three strikeouts. Orona allowed 11 hits and seven earned runs while going the distance.

Dartmouth’s Kelsey Miller was 3-for-4 with two RBIs, and teammates Katie McEachern and Maddie Damore added two hits each and Lourin Lara scored twice.

In game two, the Big Green’s Breanna Ethridge threw a five-hitter, allowing one run and walking one with no strikeouts. McEachern, Lara and Chloe Madill had two hits each for Dartmouth,

Men’s LacrossePrinceton 7, Dartmouth 3

Princeton, n.j. — After leading Princeton for the first half, Dartmouth (1-10, 0-4 Ivy) fell to the Tigers (4-7, 1-3), who scored all their goals in the second half.

Evan Key, Richie Loftus and KC Beard scored for the Big Green, which received nine saves from goalie Joe Balaban.

Gavin McBride scored three times for the Tigers, and teammates Austin Sims, Bobby Weaver, Sean Connors and Sam Gravitte also scored. Goalie Tyler Blaisdell made 15 saves. The Tigers outshot the Green, 33-22.

Women’s LacrosseDartmouth 10 Yale 5

Hanover — Senior Jaclyn Leto scored four goals to surpass the 40-goal mark for the second time in her career as Dartmouth (6-6, 2-3 Ivy League) defeated Yale (5-8, 2-3) and improved ot 5-0 at home.

Leto’s 42 goals are nine more than the next closest Ivy player and one off her career high set last season, with three games still remaining on the schedule.

Freshman teammate Elizabeth Mastrio scored three goals for the second straight game.

Yale held a 2-1 lead midway through the first half until Leto scored her second and third goals of the afternoon two minutes apart to take a one-goal edge the Big Green never relinquished.

The Big Green also got goals from Kierra Sweeney, Campbell Probert and Taryn Deck. Courtney Weisse dished out a pair of assists.

Dartmouth goalie Charlotte Wahle stopped 10 shots.

Track & FieldBig Green Prevails

Hanover — The Dartmouth men posted a convincing victory in the Dartmouth Outdoor Classic at Memorial Field in its first home meet in three years.

The Big Green earned 211.50 points, besting second-place UMass Lowell (138) by more than 70 points.

Dartmouth’s Lucas Ribeiro won both the discus and the shot put, and Colin Minor (61.17) won the hammer throw.

Corey Muggler claimed first in the long jump, as did Justin Donawa in the triple jump. Dartmouth also won the 4×100-meter relay.

Parker Johnson led a quartet of Dartmouth sprinters atop the leader board in the 110 hurdles. The Green also took the top four spots in the 400 hurdles, with Alec Eschholz leading the way.

The Dartmouth women also claimed first place with 224 points, 73 more than second-place Vermont (151).

Lebanon High graduate Moriah Morton won the javelin for Dartmouth, while teammate Melissa Dunham won the discus and was second in the hammer throw behind the Big Green’s Ameila Ali. Alison Frantz won the long jump and Molly Shapiro took the triple jump.

After a win in the 4x100m relay (46.40), Dartmouth continued to rule with wins in the 100 hurdles (Abby Feeney), the 100 (Kaitlin Whitehorn), the 200 (Sara Kikut), the 400 (Jennifer Meech) and the 800 (Aliyah Gallup).

Dartmouth also won the 4×100 and 4x400m relays.

RowingDartmouth Lightweights Host MIT, Harvard

Hanover — The No. 9 Dartmouth lightweights hosted the first of five consecutive races on the Connecticut River in pursuit of the Biglin Bowl.

Dartmouth placed third in the third varsity 8, while in the remaining two races, the Green finished sandwiched between the Crimson and the Engineers, including the Biglin Bowl, won by the Crimson.

Dartmouth Heavies Swept by BU

Hanover — The No. 10 Dartmouth heavyweights rowed in the Bill Cup on the Connecticut River against No. 7 Boston University, which won all four races, and Rutgers.

In the fourth varsity, the Terriers finished first (5:39.6), followed a split second later by the Green (5:39.9).

The Terriers retained the Bill Cup for the 11th year in a row by placing first in the varsity 8 (5:27.2), finishing just ahead of the Green (5:29.1).
