Concord — The N.H. Fish and Game Department announced today that it has withdrawn a proposal to allow bobcat hunting in the state.

The state Fish and Game Commission previously voted to open a bobcat season for the first time since 1989, but the move was met by protests from conservationists and some recreational hunters who worried about the bobcat population’s ability to sustain itself.
