Thomas Mauzy takes an oath before pleading no contest in Sullivan County Superior Court Thursday, January 12, 2017, to a charge of disorderly conduct stemming from a December 2015 incident in which he stood naked at his bedroom window in view of his neighbor Viva Hilgerson as she left for work. Mauzy had sought a jury trial, but made the plea in an effort to avoid the potential requirement of registering as a sex offender, had he been found guilty.
