Cecil Washburn, of Bethel, and Jennifer Turney, of Weathersfield, restore a stone wall around the Cherry Hill Cemetery in Bethel on Tuesday, their second day working on the wall, which had fallen into disrepair. Washburn is the town’s cemetery commissioner and cares for five cemeteries in town, while Turney is a timber framer but jumps at the chance to do stone work. Washburn is Turney’s mother’s partner and Turney thinks of him as another father. Turney’s dog Indi slept up the hill on Turney’s jacket. “He’s quality control to make sure we are doing our jobs right,” she said of Indi. (Valley News - Jennifer Hauck) Copyright Valley News.
