In her former job as a senior compensation analyst at Dartmouth College and in talking with friends in her field, Olivia Jaras, of Hanover, N.H., noticed that regardless of impartial salary recommendations for new employees and good intentions of employers, women were still making less than men. Jaras determined that women often do not have good data on what they should be making, and are unprepared to negotiate and advocate. Since leaving Dartmouth, she founded Salary Coaching for Women, and wrote the book Know Your Worth, Get Your Worth with the goal of preparing women to advocate for the pay that male counterparts are earning. "A lot of people think I'm a feminist, but I'm not. I'm a complete realist." said Jaras. "If you don't know your worth, that's your responsibility." (Valley News - James M.
