ORFORD — Rivendell Academy is scheduled to host a free presentation open to the general public on social media-related crimes on Thursday.
The New Hampshire Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force’s presentation at the Orford school will describe how computers, cellphones, iPads, digital cameras, gaming systems, social networking applications, and blogs may place students and families at risk.
This 90-minute “Social Media: A Predator’s Playground” presentation is not suitable for children and is geared toward parents, educators and community leaders who want to better understand the technology available to teenagers and the way in which predators use it to exploit them.
The presentation begins at 6:30 p.m., following a 5:30 p.m. fundraising dinner to raise money for a student trip to Spain in the spring.
