Hartland
Sunday’s race will mark the second edition of the event, but it’s the first since Sapp died unexpectedly following a surgical procedure last year.
The 100-kilometer route will wind in and around Hartland on dirt and paved surfaces, with about 80 percent of it on the former. Riders can expect 6,100 feet of elevation change along with beautiful views and several timed sections for riders seeking bragging rights.
Advance registration is available at www.bikereg.com/droc at $60. Race-day registration is $75 and begins at 6:30 a.m. at the Hartford Rec Center in advance of a 9 a.m. race start. Prizes await top finishers, and all riders will be invited to take part in a post-ride meal as well.

Norwich
Patrick Fitzpatrick’s hat trick powered the Cyclones, with Zach Garfield, Safir Mehra and Ryan Carroll providing support on the wings. Brayden Smith added a second-half goal for LSC, and goalies Micah Jacobs and Noi Larusson combined on the win in goal.
North Reading, Mass.
Tyler St. Martin delivered two unassisted goals to get LSC started. Jackson Lake’s rebound goal and William Ermarth’s conversion of a Benjamin Seiler pass closed the scoring, and defenders Dylan Kotlowitz, Tucker Monson, Ian O’Brien, Pierce Hamlin and Alex Stevens combined to keep Seacoast off the board.
The Storm then headed to Epping, N.H., for a 2-2 draw with Seacoast United Select. Jared Pugh scored both unassisted goals for the Storm.
Derry, n.h.
Zane Schiffman curved a one-time shot home on a Tinashe Muhlauri pass for the Shooters’ first goal after halftime. Cam Forbush converted a lofted Schiffman pass for the other LSC strike. Goalies Alec Smail and Joey Blackburn split goalkeeping duties, each making at least one stellar stop.
West Lebanon
Maine grabbed the lead in the first half only to surrender it to a Jack Maynes goal in the second, scored when goalkeeper Cam Dwyer left the net to take a free kick. Richie Aman drew the foul that led to Dwyer’s assist and Maynes’ goal.
Maynes and Dwyer split netminding duties for the Chargers.
West Lebanon
Charlie Adams notched the Flames’ goal in the victory.
Ethan Ross, Jordan Gottlieb and Jake Reznek excelled on defense, helping goalkeeper Noah Moran nab his first shutout of the year.
Meriden
Jacob Armstrong put the Storm on the board with a centering pass that deflected into the net off of an SFC body. Asa Berolzheimer netted the second, converting a goalmouth scramble after a Mason Thompson corner kick.
Tanner Durkee earned the shutout, with defenders Chris Morse, Hugh Townsend, Ian Caldwell and Cole Dalton also contributing to the clean sheet.
Lebanon
The best-ball scramble event will cover up to 16 teams of five players. The cost to participate is $125 per person, with an 11 a.m. check-in and noon start. The tourney benefits the scholarship fund named in memory of Broughton, the founder of Post 22’s senior and junior baseball programs.

Hanover
Participants are welcome to form their own five-player teams, or individuals can have organizers assign them to a squad. The cost to play is $100 and features the 18-hole tourney along with other prizes and auction items.

Tournament pickleball player Dan Gal will be on hand to put on a demonstration of the sport, which involves elements of tennis and paddle tennis.
The clinic will be staged on Quechee’s two new courts dedicated to pickleball.

White River Junction
Hartford is a United States Tennis Association-sponsored squad that has been together for 14 years and plays a nine-match schedule with other Upper Valley teams during the summer campaign.
The team encompasses a variety of skill levels and welcomes newcomers.

South Pomfret
The event will offer multiple options for all ages and abilities. The day begins at 9 a.m. with a 45-mile bike ride through Pomfret, Barnard, Bethel, Sharon, Hartford and Woodstock, along with a biathlon consisting of a 4.5-mile run around, up and over the Suicide Six summit and a 17-mile bike ride.
Those choosing only the 4.5-mile run or 17-mile ride will go at 10 a.m., and a one-mile run up Su Six’s Easy Mile kicks off at 11 a.m.
Everything returns to the ski area, where Zack’s Place personnel will provide a lunch featuring food from local sources.
The costs to participate are $15 for the one-mile run or $45 for the run or either bike ride. The biathlon costs $45 for individuals and $65 for teams.
