Raptors senior Ryan Landgraf medalled with a 1-under-par 33 on the front nine as Rivendell narrowly defeated Hartford, 166-170.
It’s the third straight win this season for the Raptors over Hartford, which had bettered the Hurricanes during the teams’ first match at Lake Morey on May 5.
Since then, the Raptors have grown wiser, according to Rivendell coach Justin Bonnett.
“We’ve started to make smarter decisions, managing the course better,” Bonnett said. “Some of our guys have been laying off the driver and focusing on getting it on the fairway. We’ve been getting a lot more confident on our home course.”
Sam Kamel (37) was three shots behind Landgraf, tying the Hurricanes’ top golfer, Sam Dwyer.
Hartford had the next two highest scores, from Kody Wessel (39) and Brandon Chiasson (41).
Chiasson had the shot of the day when he hit for birdie from 100 yards away on the eighth hole.
“We’re talking about a football field (in length) to get into a very small hole,” Bonnett said. “That’s pretty impressive.”
Jacob Perkins (47) and Tanner Siemons (49) also scored for the Raptors.
Hartford visits Windsor on Monday. Rivendell’s next match will be its fifth of the year against the Hurricanes, this time at the Quechee Club on Tuesday.
