Andrew Postupack

Plainfield, N.H. — Andrew Postupack, 28, died Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017. He was born on Nov. 21, 1988, and was raised in Hanover, N.H. He was currently living in Plainfield.

With everything to live for and a bright future ahead, Andrew, nonetheless, struggled with demons unbeknownst to all who loved him, and he took his own life on August 19th.

Andrew had a brilliant mind and was fascinated with so many things. He loved the outdoors – snowboarding, mountain biking, boating, hunting, and fishing. He loved science and his intellectual curiosity led him to study many different subjects in his free time, from astronomy to physics to engineering. He loved music and had very broad tastes, from Italian Opera to 70’s Punk Rock, to Euro Techno, to the classic masters Chopin and Mozart. Andrew loved tinkering on cars and could understand and repair just about any machine. He used these skills while working in the shop at Thayer School of Engineering and helping students build their projects. He had a fantastic experience working with students on the Dartmouth Formula Racing Car, and he built many lasting friendships during that time. Recently, he became fascinated with woodworking and was learning about Japanese joinery techniques in order to build his latest project. Andrew attended University of N.H. for a time and met the love of his life and recent fiancé, Melissa Kott. Andrew and Melissa had so much in common and enjoyed outdoor adventures, listening to TED Talks and Radiolab, and they were avid Patriots fans. After college, Andrew joined Mascoma Bank where he made many friends and was building a great career.

Andrew leaves behind his parents, Heidi and Jeff Postupack and his sister Katie Postupack, fiancé Melissa Kott, Grandmother Mary Postupack, aunts and uncles Stephanie Judt, Sue and Bruce Ratcliffe, Linda Sciongay, Janet Postupack, Judy Stark, cousins Jonathan, Justin, Amy, Elliott, Reilly, and Weston, and many close friends. Andrew was a great man and a loyal friend who freely shared his gifts and talents with everyone. We will miss him terribly and love him until the end of time.

Family and friends are invited to Andrew’s memorial calling hours at the Ricker Funeral Home & Crematory in Lebanon, N.H. on Thursday, Aug. 24 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. A memorial service for Andrew will be held on Friday, Aug. 25 at 10 a.m. at the Valley Bible Church of White River Junction, Vt., with Pastor Neal Patel officiating.
