A weekend of wild weather in New Hampshire included a tornado that touched down in Ossipee, a rare waterspout on Lake Winnipesaukee, a damaging microburst in Wolfeboro and powerful gusts that caused injuries at a tent revival in New Ipswich.

At least six people were hurt when strong winds brought down a tent at the religious gathering Sunday in New Ipswich. One person was treated for a broken arm, while others suffered cuts, bumps and bruises. The injured people were part of an evangelist group that has been hosting a tent revival in town.

A series of strong thunderstorms swept through the state Sunday.

A day earlier, a tornado caused minor damage in Ossipee, uprooting and snapping trees, and blowing shingles off the roofs of several buildings.

The National Weather Service also confirmed that a microburst, a sudden downdraft of damaging wind, struck near Wolfeboro earlier Saturday. It included wind speeds of 80 mph at times.

The storm that passed along the northern shore of Lake Winnipesaukee produced at least one waterspout, a tornado moving over water, as well as damaging wind gusts over land, officials said.

More than a dozen large pine trees were uprooted and four seasonal camps and two vehicles were damaged.
