White River Junction — The jury has begun deliberating in the second-degree murder trial of Emily Perkins, and has asked to review testimony from a couple of witnesses.

Perkins, a Royalton resident, has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder and attempted murder in the shooting death of Bethel drug dealer Scott Hill. A woman in the home was also wounded in the shooting.

Jurors got the case around 10:30 this morning, and this afternoon asked to rehear the testimony of five witnesses, including two who were at Hill’s trailer on the morning he was killed. 

Jurors can also consider the lesser charges of aggravated assault and manslaughter.
